Agentic commerce controls for AI agents that buy and sell
When an AI agent can place orders, pay suppliers or issue refunds, every purchase needs an answer to three questions: which agent did it, was it allowed, and can you prove it. Agent Trust Cloud registers each agent, decides every purchase against your policy before it runs, sends large ones to a person, and keeps a record of each decision.
What Agent Trust Cloud does for agent purchases today
Agent identity and registry
Every agent that can buy or refund is a registered principal with a named owner, a lifecycle status and the permissions it was granted. An agent nobody registered is found and shown, not trusted.
Spend thresholds and merchant rules as policy
Rules match the amount of an action in cents, as a range, and the destination or resource it targets. An agent is refused any purchase action it was not granted, and a rule can deny or hold payments to a named merchant.
Human approval above a set amount
A require-approval rule with a minimum amount sends any purchase at or above it to a person before it runs. Below the threshold the action proceeds and is still recorded.
Allow, deny or require approval at runtime
The decision is made before the payment call executes, by a deterministic policy engine: deny outranks approval, approval outranks allow, and the rule that decided is named. New rules can run in monitor mode first to show what they would have done.
An evidence trail per purchase
Each decision is stored with the inputs it was decided on — agent, action, amount, destination, policy version and the matched rule — so a purchase can be traced from the order back to the rule that allowed it.
One purchase, decided before it runs
- The agent asks to pay: its identity, the action, the amount in cents and the merchant or account.
- Policy checks the agent is registered, active and granted this purchase action.
- Amount and destination rules apply: below your threshold it proceeds; at or above it, a person approves; a refused destination is denied.
- The decision, its inputs, the policy version and the rule that decided are recorded — including refusals.
Rules can run in monitor mode first, so you see which orders a new threshold would have held before it holds any.
Where it sits
Agent Trust Cloud governs your own agents: what they may buy, from whom and up to what amount. It works alongside whichever checkout or payment protocol carries the transaction and does not replace your payment provider. It is independent of the Agentic Commerce Protocol, AP2 and the card-network agent programmes and does not claim membership, partnership or certification with any of them.
