Objective

The company should define a category larger than “AI security tool.” The defensible category is AI Workforce Control Plane: infrastructure that governs the identity, authority, behavior, cost and lifecycle of autonomous software. Security is the entry wedge, but governance, observability, compliance and FinOps increase budget coverage and retention.

What to build

  • Category name: AI Agent Security & Governance / AI Workforce Control Plane.
  • Core promise: Know every agent. Control every action. Prove every outcome.
  • Land through security visibility and policy enforcement; expand into audit, FinOps and enterprise governance.
  • Support both internally built agents and agents delivered by third-party SaaS vendors.

Implementation decisions

  • Position as additive infrastructure, not a rip-and-replace IAM, SIEM, CASB or model platform.
  • Anchor differentiation in runtime authority controls, agent lineage and multi-provider normalization.
  • Create an enterprise object model for agent identity that remains independent of the underlying LLM.
  • Build for security teams first, but expose finance, compliance and executive views from the same data plane.

Definition of done

  • Website and sales material use one consistent category and three-pillar story.
  • A buyer can understand the product in under 60 seconds without knowing agent frameworks.
  • Competitive documents clearly explain when Agent Trust Cloud complements vs. replaces an adjacent tool.
