Objective
Once Agent Trust Cloud observes model and tool usage, it can give organizations a unified view of AI spend by agent and business purpose. This creates a second economic buyer and turns security telemetry into operational savings.
What to build
- Normalize token/model/API/tool costs across providers.
- Attribute spend to agent, team, application, customer, task and environment.
- Detect idle agents, redundant calls, runaway loops and expensive model misuse.
- Forecast month-end spend and show unit economics per task/outcome.
- Provide chargeback/showback exports.
Implementation decisions
- Ingest provider billing/usage data and correlate with runtime event IDs where possible.
- Separate estimated real-time cost from finalized invoice cost.
- Provide cost anomaly alerts and budget policies.
- Avoid optimizing price in ways that violate security, quality or data-residency policy.
Definition of done
- Finance can reconcile material platform estimates to provider invoices within a defined tolerance.
- Every high-cost agent has an owner and budget.
- Runaway loops trigger alerts or automatic rate/budget controls.
Success metrics
- AI spend under management
- Savings identified
- Cost per successful task
- Budget overrun incidents
